HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 11

State of Washington 49th Legislature 1985 Regular Session

WHEREAS, The relationship between the state of Washington and the neighboring state of Oregon is of great importance to the well-being of the citizens of both states; and
WHEREAS, Regular meetings between members representing the legislatures of both states would provide the means for addressing issues of mutual concern;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring, That a Washington and Oregon joint committee be established with one member being appointed by each caucus in each house of the Washington state legislature and that the legislature of Oregon be requested to similarly select four members; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the members of the committee select a nonvoting member to serve as a chairperson; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the committee is requested to meet at least twice a year and that the members of the committee representing the state of Washington shall report to the legislature by the beginning of the regular legislative session in 1986 and by December 31, 1986; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the legislature of Oregon.
