AN ACT Relating to real estate excise taxation; and adding a new section to chapter 82.45 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 82.45 RCW to read as follows:
(1) The initial sale of new houses that meet the energy standards of the model conservation standards adopted by the Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Planning Council or enacted by the state legislature to be compatible with the model conservation standards developed by the Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Planning Council is exempt from the tax imposed under this chapter.
(2) The exemption under this section applies only to the house and does not apply to the land or any other structures on the land.
