AN ACT Relating to the 1989 Washington centennial commission; amending RCW 27.60.900; and adding a new section to chapter 27.60 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 27.60 RCW to read as follows:

          The 1989 Washington centennial commission shall include in its comprehensive program events commemorating the exploration and mapping of the region by Captain George Vancouver.  1992 will mark the bicentennial of Vancouver's voyage.

        Sec. 2.  Section 6, chapter 90, Laws of 1982 and RCW 27.60.900 are each amended to read as follows:

          The 1989 Washington centennial commission as established by this chapter shall cease to exist on December 31, ((1990)) 1993.
