AN ACT Relating to archives and records management; and amending RCW 40.14.025.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 4, chapter 115, Laws of 1981 and RCW 40.14.025 are each amended to read as follows:

          The secretary of state and the director of financial management shall jointly establish a schedule of fees and charges governing the records management services provided by the division of archives and records management to other state agencies, offices, departments, and other entities.  The schedule shall be determined such that the fees and charges will provide the division with funds to meet its anticipated expenditures for records management services during any allotment period.

          There is created the archives and records management account within the general fund, which shall consist of all fees and charges collected under this section.  The account shall be appropriated exclusively for use by the secretary of state for the payment of costs and expenses incurred for records management services in ((the operation of)) the division of archives and records management.
