AN ACT Relating to theft of controlled substances; and amending RCW 9A.56.030 and 9.94A.320.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

Sec. 1. Section 9A.56.030, chapter 260, Laws of 1975 1st ex. sess. and RCW 9A.56.030 are each amended to read as follows:

(1) A person is guilty of theft in the first degree if he commits theft of:

(a) Property or services which exceed(s) one thousand five hundred dollars in value; ((or))

(b) Property of any value taken from the person of another; or

(c) Any material or compound containing any quantity of a controlled substance belonging to or in the care, custody, control, or possession of a person registered with the board of pharmacy under RCW 69.50.302 or 69.50.303.

(2) Theft in the first degree is a class B felony.

Sec. 2. Section 3, chapter 115, Laws of 1983 as amended by section 17, chapter 209, Laws of 1984 and RCW 9.94A.320 are each amended to read as follows:
