AN ACT Relating to public television; adding a new section to chapter 43.08 RCW; and making an appropriation.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 43.08 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) On the twenty-fifth of each month, the state treasurer shall distribute to television stations that are broadcasting from within this state and that are affiliated with the public broadcasting system an amount equal to the amounts contributed to the affiliate by employees of the state during the previous month, but no more than thirty dollars may be distributed per employee.

          (2) The treasurer may require such proof of contribution as the treasurer considers necessary.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     There is appropriated from the general fund to the state treasurer for the biennium ending June 30, 1987, the sum of .......... dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to carry out the purposes of this act.
