AN ACT Relating to public transportation authorities; and adding a new section to chapter 41.56 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 41.56 RCW to read as follows:

          In addition to the classes of employees listed in RCW 41.56.030(6), the provisions of RCW 41.56.430 through 41.56.490 shall also be applicable to public transportation employees who are represented by a labor organization and are employed by a public employer.  If there is a conflict between the binding interest arbitration procedures, if any, established in any agreement pursuant to the urban mass transportation act and the binding interest arbitration procedures in RCW 41.56.430 through 41.56.490, the procedures in chapter 41.56 RCW shall prevail.
