AN ACT Relating to model schools or training departments; and amending RCW 28B.35.315.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
Sec. 1. Section 57, chapter 169, Laws of 1977 ex. sess. and RCW 28B.35.315 are each amended to read as follows:
((Annually,
on or)) Monthly, one week before the date for reporting the school
attendance of the school district in which said model school or training
department is situated, for the purpose of taxation for the support of the
common schools and for the purpose of distribution of the basic education
allocation, the board of trustees of each such regional university having
supervision over the same shall file with the board of the school district or
districts, in which such model school or training department is situated, a
report showing the number of ((common school pupils)) full time
equivalent students at each such model school or training department during
the current school year ((last passed)), and the period of their
attendance in the same form that reports of public schools are made. Any
superintendent of the school district so affected shall, in reporting the
attendance in said school district, segregate the attendance at said model
school or training department, from the attendance in the other schools of said
district for the purposes in this section: PROVIDED, That attendance
shall be credited((, if credit be given therefor,)) to the school district
in which the pupil resides: PROVIDED FURTHER, That one-half of the basic
education allocation which is distributed under RCW 28A.41.130 and 28A.41.140
to the affected school district for the students in attendance at the model
school or training department shall be forwarded by the school district to the
regional university having supervision of the model school or training
department solely for the support of such school or department.
