AN ACT Relating to retirement from public service; and adding a new section to chapter 41.32 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 41.32 RCW to read as follows:

          Any member of the public employees' retirement system under chapter 41.40 RCW may continue to be a member of the public employees' retirement system even if that member occupies a position which would otherwise require the member to be covered under the provisions of this chapter.

          The board of trustees and the department of retirement systems shall adopt rules as are necessary for the administration of this section.
