BACKGROUND:
In 1985 the Department of Commerce and Economic Development was reorganized and renamed the Department of Trade and Economic Development. In 1975 the State Trade Fair fund was renamed the State International Trade Fair Fund. In 1985 the Export Assistance Center was reorganized and renamed the Small Business Export Finance Assistance Center.
Various sections of the Revised Code of Washington still make inaccurate references to the Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the State Trade Fair Fund or the Export Assistance Center.
The code contains several temporary chapters and sections which make reference to Expo 74, Energy Fair 1983, and other obsolete programs. References are also made to repealed sections of law.
SUMMARY:
Several sections of the Revised Code of Washington are amended to reference the correct titles of the Department of Trade and Economic Development, the State International Trade Fair Fund, and the Small Business Export Finance Assistance Center. Temporary chapters and sections pertaining to Expo 74, Energy Fair 83, the Department of Trade and Economic Development are decodified. References to repealed sections of law are deleted.
