BACKGROUND:

 

The Shoreline Management Act generally requires a substantial development permit for any development that exceeds a cost of $2,500 or that interferes with normal public use of the water or shorelines of the state.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Community docks that serve single or multiple family residences and cost less than $2,500 are not required to obtain a substantial development permit.
