BACKGROUND:

 

A person who protects himself, his family, or his property, or who comes to the aid of another person who is a victim of aggravated assault, armed robbery, holdup, rape, murder, or any other heinous crime may not be placed in legal jeopardy.  The defense is available when the person uses any reasonable means of defense.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The offenses against which a person may defend by reasonable means are first or second degree assault, robbery, kidnapping, arson, burglary, rape, murder, or any other heinous crime.
