BACKGROUND:
The provisions of the Public Disclosure Act require elected officials, executive state officers, candidates, or appointees to file a statement of financial affairs for the preceding calendar year with the Public Disclosure Commission after January 1 and before April 15 of each year. It is suggested that compliance with this requirement would be easier if the deadline were extended beyond the last day for the filing of federal income tax returns.
SUMMARY:
Elected officers, executive state officers, candidates or appointees are required to file a statement of financial affairs for the preceding calendar year with the Public Disclosure Commission after January 1 and before June 1 of each year.
