BACKGROUND:

 

Concern has been raised that the use of animals in medical and other scientific research causes suffering in animals and may involve unnecessary and inhumane treatment of animals.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The use of animals for any kind of research is prohibited.  Violation is a class C felony.

Effective Date:The bill contains an emergency clause and takes effect immediately.
