AS REPORTED BY COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES, FEBRUARY 10, 1987

BACKGROUND:

Persons 16 years or older fishing for game fish in any lake, pond, stream, or river, must have a fishing license issued by the Department of Game.

SUMMARY:

The Director of the Department of Game shall authorize persons to fish for game fish without being required to have a fishing license if fishing occurs only on private lakes or ponds that are completely inaccessible to the public and are managed or stocked by the owner.

EFFECT OF PROPOSED SUBSTITUTE:

Technical changes are made in the bill which remove the wording: "completely inaccessible to the public" and replace it with "lakes that have no public access".  Reference to the size of private lakes is removed.
