BACKGROUND:

 

In 1986 the Legislature provided a restoration period for those members of the Public Employees' Retirement System, excluding elected officials, who had previously failed to restore their withdrawn employee contributions within the prescribed period.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Until June 30, 1988, elected officials who reenter service and fail to restore withdrawn contributions may restore these contributions, with interest.
