BACKGROUND:

 

Current statute requires the Governor to prepare and submit budget documents to the Legislature in a timely manner.  For budget requests covering a biennium, budget documents are to be submitted by December 20.  Budget requests covering a fiscal period other than a biennium are to be submitted to the Legislature 20 days before the first day of session.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Governor is required to submit executive or agency proposals that have a budgetary impact of $50,000 or more within the same time period as the budget documents.
