BACKGROUND:

 

In the 1985-87 biennium the state's expenditures for furnishings and equipment are estimated at $211,162,761.  The Governor's proposed 1987-89 budget seeks $246,257,897 for such expenditures.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Office of Financial Management is directed to prepare a report that describes criteria for state agencies to justify furniture purchases, a uniform accounting or reporting system and a centralized inventory and acquisition system for such purchases.
