                              SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The state does not currently collect data on the number of employed or unemployed persons of disability. The Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation has suggested that such data can facilitate the development of targeted programs to assist persons of disability in finding and maintaining employment.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Employment Security Department is directed to develop proposals for collection of data on employment of persons of disability and submit the proposals to the House and Senate Commerce and Labor and Ways and Means Committees.
