                              SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED

 

BACKGROUND:

 

All cities, code cities, and towns must publish their ordinances.  However, they may publish a section-by-section summary of these ordinances.

 

SUMMARY:

 

As an alternative to publishing every ordinance or a section-by-section summary of each ordinance at least once in an official newspaper, code and third class cities with populations of less than three thousand, and towns may publish in official newspapers a summary of the intent and content of any ordinance adopted.  Such city or town must indicate the times and location where a copy of the ordinance is available for public inspection.
