BACKGROUND:
During the period of July 1, 1987, until June 30, 1995, the Department of Ecology shall distribute the appropriations from the water quality account as follows: not more than 50.0 percent for water pollution control facilities discharging directly into marine waters; not more than 20.0 percent for water pollution control activities preventing or mitigating pollution of underground waters and facilities that protect federally designated sole source aquifers with at least two-thirds for the Spokane-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer; not more than 10.0 percent for water pollution control activities protecting freshwater lakes and rivers; not more than 10.0 percent for activities controlling nonpoint source water pollution; 10 percent and such sums as may remain from the distribution for discretionary use by the Department of Ecology for water pollution control activities or facilities; and not more than 2.5 percent of the total distributed to be transferred to the State Conservation Commission.
SUMMARY:
The 20.0 percent of the distribution of funds to sole source aquifers is made absolute as is the 2.5 percent transferred to the State Conservation Commission.
