BACKGROUND:

 

It is illegal to install the poles, structures, equipment and wiring used in electric signs without a general electrical or specialty electrical sign contractor's license.  The person installing the poles, structures, equipment and wiring for electric signs must be state certified general journeyman or sign specialty electrician.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The poles, structures and equipment other than wiring used in electric signs may be installed without a general electrical or sign specialty electrical contractor license or a general journeyman electrician or sign specialty electrician certified by the state.
