BACKGROUND:

 

A personal use license is required for all persons over the age of fifteen who fish for, take, or possess food fish for personal use in state waters or offshore waters.

 

Some smelt fishermen do not feel that they should have to purchase a personal use license to conduct their sport.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Smelt fishermen are not required to have a personal use license.
