BACKGROUND:
The Director of the Office of Financial Management (OFM) is responsible for the policies governing the acquisition and maintenance of all state agency operated vehicles. Statute mandates that gasohol and other cost-effective alternative fuels be considered when vehicle operating policies are decided.
SUMMARY:
This bill requires that gasohol be dispensed at state facilities. The requirement does not apply if a wholesale distributor in the vicinity does not distribute ethanol or if the facility dispenses propane or a similar fuel currently. The definition of gasohol is redefined to include only ethanol.
