BACKGROUND:

 

There are bank fishing areas in the lower Columbia River that are commonly used by recreational anglers, including senior citizens, for salmon and steelhead angling.

 

There are senior citizens who desire to fish from the bank on a year around basis for salmon and steelhead.

 

SUMMARY:

 

A senior citizen salmon and steelhead bank fishing area is established on the Columbia River from 600 feet below the Bonneville Dam fishway to the Megler-Astoria bridge.  The senior citizen bank fishing area will be open for year around salmon and steelhead angling for persons 70 years old and older.
