BACKGROUND:

 

The lower salmon and steelhead fishing management area in the Columbia River extends from the Interstate 5 bridge to the Megler-Astoria bridge.

 

Some persons would prefer to extend the upper boundary of the area upstream to the Interstate 205 bridge to increase recreational fishing opportunity.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The boundary of the lower Columbia River recreational salmon and steelhead fishing area is moved upstream from the Interstate 5 bridge to the Interstate 205 bridge, a distance of approximately six miles.
