BACKGROUND:

 

Each candidate desiring to have his or her name printed on a ballot for any office, other than the office of president or vice president or an office in a jurisdiction in which ownership of property is a prerequisite for voting, must file a declaration and affidavit of candidacy.  The form of the declaration and affidavit is prescribed by law.

 

SUMMARY:

 

A new form is prescribed for a declaration of candidacy to precinct committeeman.  The form is similar to the form for other offices but does not require notarization by an official.
