BACKGROUND:

 

In order to develop park and recreation facilities in conjunction with other authorized activities of port districts, such park proposals must conform to a Port's comprehensive plan of harbor improvements and industrial development.  Concern has been expressed that such a restrictive requirement could reduce the feasibility of desirable park projects.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The requirement is eliminated that park projects designed to enhance the use of boat landings, and air, land and water passenger and transfer terminals or other port facilities must be developed pursuant to the port's comprehensive plan of harbor improvements and industrial development.
