AS REPORTED BY COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & LABOR, FEBRUARY 4, 1988
BACKGROUND:
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has stopped providing survey data (primarily prevailing wage) to the Department of Employment Security. The BLS feels that state law does not adequately protect the confidentiality of that data.
SUMMARY:
Confidentiality of information supplied by another governmental agency is maintained by Employment Security. Information supplied voluntarily on the condition of confidentiality will be held confidential by the department. Requests for confidential information will be addressed to the providing agency rather than the department.
Appropriation: none
Revenue: none
Fiscal Note: none requested
