AN ACT Relating to city and county jails; and adding a new section to chapter 70.48 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 70.48 RCW to read as follows:

          Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the legislative authority of any county, city, or town may authorize jails in the jurisdiction to place two prisoners in one cell.
