AN ACT Relating to a liquor broker's license; and adding a new section to chapter 66.24 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 66.24 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) There shall be a license to be designated as a liquor broker's license that authorizes the business to whom it is issued to act as a liquor broker, for a fee or commission, in the purchase of liquor for or on behalf of a person within or without this state who is authorized to buy liquor for purposes of resale and in the sale of liquor for or on behalf of a person, other than a retail licensee, licensed to sell liquor within this state.  A liquor broker's license is not required to sell liquor to the board.

          (2) A business licensed under this section shall not buy or sell any liquor for its own account, take or deliver title to any liquor except liquor samples as authorized under this title, or receive or store any liquor in its own name within this state.

          (3) A licensee under this section shall not hold any other license issued by the board, except an agent's license under RCW 66.24.310.

          (4) The board may by rule establish such further conditions or requirements pertaining to the liquor broker's license as the board deems necessary or advisable.

          (5) The fee for a liquor broker's license shall be one hundred dollars per annum.
