AN ACT Relating to college academic performance and high school grade point averages; adding a new section to chapter 28B.20 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 28B.30 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28B.20 RCW to read as follows:

          The University of Washington shall annually publish a report on the college grade point average of its graduates and its relationship to the grade point average the students received in high school.  The regression analysis of this data shall be cumulative in nature including all students for the past five years who graduated from a particular high school.  The report shall include a ranking of the high schools based on their performance.  The information shall be provided to all prospective applicants when the applicants request an admission application as an aid to parents and students in determining the prospective student's chances of success at the institution.
