AN ACT Relating to competency testing of real estate brokers and salespersons; and adding a new section to chapter 18.85 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 18.85 RCW to read as follows:

          The director may require, by rule, a broker and/or salesperson to successfully complete a course in a selected aspect of real estate law which he or she has been found to have violated as a result of a department investigation.  This penalty may be imposed in lieu of or in addition to other penalties that may be imposed under this chapter.
