AN ACT Relating to the teachers' retirement system; and adding a new section to chapter 41.32 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 41.32 RCW to read as follows:

          Any member who has been employed in the public school system of another state may count not more than ten years of such service towards eligibility for retirement.  The individual shall have a total of thirty years of qualifying service including service in the public schools of this state for the provisions of this section to apply.  However, calculations of benefits shall be based upon the number of years of service credit within the retirement system.
