AN ACT Relating to state patrol retirement allowances; adding a new section to chapter 43.43 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 43.43 RCW to read as follows:

          As of the effective date of this section, the retirement allowances of surviving spouses whose allowances under RCW 43.43.270 commenced before January 1, 1970, shall be permanently increased by two hundred dollars per month.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, the support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
