AN ACT Relating to railroad employees; and adding a new section to chapter 81.40 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 81.40 RCW to read as follows:

          Every person operating as a common carrier railroad in the state shall make available to any employee who is an engineer, conductor, or yard foreman a first aid training course that conforms to standards at least equivalent to the American Red Cross eight-hour first aid training course and cardiopulmonary resuscitation course.  The railroad shall provide the class and related materials for any covered employee choosing to attend the first aid course.
