AN ACT Relating to legislative approval of additional ports of entry for land transportation of radioactive waste; adding a new section to chapter 46.48 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.48 RCW to read as follows:

          Any ports of entry for land transportation of radioactive waste materials other than those designated by WAC 446-50-040 as filed on December 11, 1979, must be approved by concurrent resolution of the state legislature.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, the support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
