AN ACT Relating to exempt positions in the office of financial management; and amending RCW 41.06.075.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 7, chapter 239, Laws of 1969 ex. sess. as amended by section 56, chapter 151, Laws of 1979 and RCW 41.06.075 are each amended to read as follows:

          In addition to the exemptions set forth in RCW 41.06.070, the provisions of this chapter shall not apply in the office of financial management to the director, ((his confidential secretary,)) not to exceed two deputy directors ((and)), not to exceed seven assistant directors, assistants to and one confidential secretary for each of the above-named officers, and the personnel manager, and positions responsible for the formulation of executive policy, budget proposals, forecasts, executive consultant services, or financial accounting systems or services.  The individuals appointed under this section, except for the director, shall be paid salaries to be fixed by the director.
