AN ACT Relating to immunity from civil liability for local government officials; and amending RCW 4.96.040.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 2, chapter 190, Laws of 1981 and RCW 4.96.040 are each amended to read as follows:

          Elected and appointed officials of special purpose districts are immune from civil liability for damages arising from actions performed within the scope of their official duties or employment, but liability shall remain on the special purpose districts for the tortious conduct of its officials under RCW 4.96.010.
