WHEREAS, The Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation was established by the Washington State Legislature in 1986 to study and analyze the barriers to employment and full economic participation experienced by citizens of disability; and

          WHEREAS, The Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation has, after due consultation and deliberation, made recommendations directed toward the achievement of employment, independence, and economic well-being by citizens of disability; and

          WHEREAS, The Legislature has determined that the implementation of the recommendations of the Committee need to be monitored and a report on progress in meeting the recommendations should be made;

          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Senate of the State of Washington, the House of Representatives concurring, That the governor's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped and the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council shall report on the progress made in implementing the Committee's recommendations by January 1, 1988, to the governor and the Senate and House of Representatives Commerce and Labor and Ways and Means Committees.
