AS PASSED HOUSE JANUARY 30, 1989

BACKGROUND:

As statutes are amended over time, internal references between different statutes may become inaccurate.  This inaccuracy may result from subsequent repeal or amendment of a statute referred to, or from a gubernatorial veto of a portion of a bill containing a reference.  Also, bills sometimes make reference to "this act" in a section of law that is, or over time becomes, a part of a larger chapter in the RCW.  In these instances, the reference to "this act" technically means only the specific original bill, whereas the intended reference is usually "this chapter".

SUMMARY:

Improper internal references in three sections of the RCW are corrected.
