                              SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Cities and towns are authorized to sue and be sued.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The legislative authority of any city or town that has had a judgment entered against it is granted the discretionary authority to reimburse the prevailing party or parties for their attorneys' fees and related court costs.  The reimbursement may not exceed $25,000.

 

This act expires on September 1, 1989.
