BACKGROUND:

 

In 1986 the Legislature created the Educational Excellence Awards to be given to teachers, administrators, principals, superintendents and school boards.  The award recognized the leadership, contributions and commitment of these individuals to education.  Classified employees were not eligible to receive the Educational Excellence Award.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Three classified employees from each congressional district will be eligible to receive the Educational Excellence Award.  Recipients will receive a certificate presented by the Governor and Superintendent of Public Instruction.

 

Fiscal Note:      Not Requested.
