BACKGROUND:
A sunset review of the Board of Pharmacy, conducted by the Legislative Budget Committee in 1989, recommended that the agency be continued.
The Legislative Budget Committee also recommended that the Interdepartmental Coordinating Committee on Drug Misuse, Diversion, and Abuse be abolished.
SUMMARY:
SUBSTITUTE BILL: The powers and duties of the State Board of Pharmacy are reauthorized.
The Interdepartmental Coordinating Committee is repealed.
SUBSTITUTE BILL COMPARED TO ORIGINAL: The technical change in the regulatory nomenclature of pharmacist assistants is deleted. Level A pharmacist assistants would have been licensed, and level B pharmacist assistants would have been registered. Pharmacist assistants are currently certified.
