BACKGROUND:
The states of Washington, Oregon and California are members of the Tri-State Highway 101 Council. The council's goal is development of the Pacific Coast Highway Corridor for environmental protection, economic development and public safety. A $9 million federal highway grant proposal for development of a consensus plan is currently before Congress.
SUMMARY:
The President and members of Congress are encouraged to develop strategies for a Pacific Coast Highway Corridor consensus plan, with the promise of federal funding, beginning in 1991.
