AS PASSED HOUSE MARCH 29, 1989

BACKGROUND:

In the past, the governor has been able to exercise the veto power by removing portions of sections of a bill.  This procedure often leaves the remaining portion of a bill with incomplete or inaccurate numbering or internal cross references.  In addition, the veto of a section or less of a bill may leave other portions of the bill, or other bills, with meaningless cross references.

SUMMARY:

Several sections in the RCW are amended or repealed to correct technical inaccuracies caused by gubernatorial vetoes.
