BACKGROUND:
Since 1871, the law has required that books, letters, papers and transactions of the Territorial Auditor and later the State Auditor be open to public inspection during general office hours. Since 1972, access to the Auditor's records has also been guaranteed under the provisions of the public disclosure law.
SUMMARY:
An obsolete section of statute providing for public inspection of the State Auditor's books, letters, papers and transactions is repealed. The public retains access to the Auditor's records through the public disclosure laws.
