BACKGROUND:

 

Employment practices for state government have recognized the possibility of job sharing as an efficient and effective way to fill positions.  Some school districts have also begun to allow job sharing.

 

SUMMARY:

 

School and educational service districts shall consider applications from two individuals wishing to share a job.  All announcements of job openings shall contain a statement indicating the district will accept applications from individuals wishing to share the position.  Job sharing shall be available to certificated as well as classified staff.

SUMMARY OF PROPOSED SENATE AMENDMENT:

 

Classified positions are eliminated from the intent of this bill.
