BACKGROUND:

 

Cities and towns are authorized to sue and be sued.

 

SUMMARY:

 

When a judgment is entered against a city or town, the local government may reimburse the prevailing party for attorney's fees and related costs.  Reimbursement may not exceed $25,000.
