BACKGROUND:

Currently, there are no continuing education requirements for land surveyors.  In order to renew their certification, land surveyors must pay a fee determined by the director of the Department of Licensing.

SUMMARY:

The State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is given the authority to adopt rules establishing mandatory continuing education requirements for the renewal of professional land surveyor certificates.  Each year, in order to renew their certification, land surveyors must comply with the continuing education requirements in addition to paying the fee.
